It will be the 22nd time that CBS has carried the Super Bowl, which is the most among the four broadcast networks. New York CNN —Ticket prices for this year’s Super Bowl have dropped since last week, but it still might require hitting a casino jackpot to afford it. Despite the drop, this year’s Super Bowl still remains the most expensive on record, with the average purchase price currently at $9,850 — 70% more than the average purchase price of last year’s big game. The 2020 game, which was between the same two teams, was previously the most expensive Super Bowl on record, according to TickPick, which had an average purchase price of $6,370. Compared to the ticket prices, getting to Las Vegas and finding a place to sleep might seem like a bargain. San Francisco to Las Vegas roundtrip flights are slightly less, with the cost hovering around $383 (a 262% increase from last year on the same route).

Paramount Global shares got a boost last week after reports of a potential takeover offer , but the media company could still prove a rare losing bet for Berkshire Hathaway , its biggest institutional investor. The media company's Class B shares climbed almost 5% last week to close Friday at $14.43 as investors cheered billionaire media mogul Byron Allen's $14.3 billion buyout bid. Allen Media Group offered $21.53 for each Class B nonvoting share of Paramount, about 50% above the 90-day average price. The Omaha-based conglomerate owns 93.7 million shares of Paramount nonvoting Class B stock, or a 15.4% stake, according to FactSet. It may have been the case that Berkshire was betting on Paramount being an acquisition target.
